1. Who we are

Applyo is operated by Promote Innovation, registered in England and Wales. We are the data controller for personal data processed through applyo.co.uk and app.applyo.co.uk. For privacy enquiries, email admin@intervyo.co.uk.

2. What data we collect

Account data: Name, email address, and password hash when you create an account.

Usage data: Interview recordings (audio and video), CV uploads, session reports and scores, cover letters and other content you generate through the platform.

Demo data: If you use a free demo (CV Scanner or Video Interview demo) before creating an account, we store your demo session results using a browser-based token. No personal account is created until you sign up. Demo data is retained for 30 days and then deleted, unless you create an account and claim the session.

Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited, collected automatically through essential and optional cookies.

Payment data: Payment details are processed directly by Stripe. We do not store your card number or bank details on our servers.

3. How we use your data

We use your data to provide and improve the Applyo service, generate feedback and reports from your interview sessions, personalise your experience based on your target role and industry, process payments via Stripe, send service updates and trial reminders, and monitor platform stability and performance.

4. Data processing

Your interview recordings and written responses are processed to generate feedback reports. This processing uses third-party language model APIs to score and analyse your performance. Your data is sent to these providers solely for the purpose of generating your feedback and is not retained by them for training or any other purpose. We do not use your data to train models ourselves.

5. Data sharing and sub-processors

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following categories of service provider, each under appropriate data processing agreements:

Hosting and infrastructure: Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (database and authentication, EU-North-1 region).

Payment processing: Stripe.

Email: Resend (transactional emails from email.applyo.co.uk).

Analytics: We may use privacy-respecting analytics tools to collect anonymised usage data. We do not use Google Analytics or any tool that shares data with advertising networks.

AI processing: Third-party language model APIs for generating interview feedback and scores.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies required for the site to function (authentication, session management) and optional analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can manage your preferences through the cookie consent banner shown when you first visit, or review our full Cookie Policy.

7. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Demo session data from unauthenticated users is retained for 30 days and then automatically deleted. When you delete your account, all associated data — including recordings, CVs, reports, and session history — is permanently deleted within 30 days.

8. Your rights

Under GDPR and UK data protection law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data. You also have the right to object to or restrict processing, and the right to withdraw consent for optional cookies at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at admin@intervyo.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.

9. International transfers

Your data is primarily stored in the EU (Supabase EU-North-1). Where data is transferred outside the UK or EU (for example, to AI processing providers), we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including standard contractual clauses.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the platform. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
